Our History

Built on strong found

Founded in June 1946, just a year before India's independence, Bharat Travel Service P Ltd is one of the oldest and most respected names in India's tourism industry. Established by Sri S.M.Keshavan, Sri R.S.Subramanya Rao and Sri T.V.Subba Rao, the company played a pioneering role in shaping India's organized travel market, providing insightful strategies and exceptional customer service that set the benchmark for the industry.Under the visionary leadership of Mr.K.Sriram, who took over as Managing Director in the late 1950s, Bharat Travel Service went from strength to strength, building strong relationships with customers, partners and the industry. Today, the company is managed by a talented team of professionals, who are graduates of some of the most prestigious institutions in India, USA, and Australia. Passionate about their work and deeply committed to Bharat's rich heritage, they continue to innovate, expand and exceed expectations.

Dr.Suresh Sethuram

Dr. Suresh Sethuraman is a distinguished expert in Roman and medieval Indian archaeology, holding dual doctorates and a background as a Fulbright Fellow and Harvard lecturer. He serves as an ASI consultant, INTACH state convener, and author of 35 books, while also conducting public heritage walks.

Dinesh Sriram

Dinesh is the Chennai-based Managing Director of Bharat Travel Service and a director at Interserve Travel. An alumnus of Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, he specializes in sustainable tourism management. He also actively leads community projects, notably serving with Rotary International and heading rural initiatives for Young Indians.

Assistant Manager Operations

Marcello Charles Mario

As our Assistant Manager Operations, Marcello brings with him his strong background as a Senior Technical Recruiter at E*Pro Inc., where he managed complex IT staffing for leading US clients. An MBA graduate from NIBM and BA in English Literature from University of Madras, he specializes in delivering complex programs using simple yet solid process driven approach to operations.

Sapna Dev

In her role as Business Development Manager, she brings experience from previous positions as Assistant Vice President in Corporate Banking at Axis Bank and with ICICI Bank. An alumna of Christ University, she contributes to social impact initiatives through Young Indians’ Project Masoom and Rotary Club India.

Wellness Programs Development & Delivery

Praveen Ram

He is a wellness expert based in Wayanad, Kerala, with 15 years of experience in yoga, meditation, and traditional Ayurvedic practices. Drawing from Kerala’s rich healing heritage, he designs immersive wellness programs focused on holistic therapies, mind-body balance, and advanced meditation techniques for lasting physical and mental well-being.
